ACTIVITIES OF PLAYERS. Errol Flynn is converting his Mulholland Drive estate into a model farm. Mae West is paging Charles Ruggles to appear with her in a Broadway production. Kay Johnston will make her return to pictures in Samuel Goldwyn's “Real Glory,” which stars Gary Cooper. Ilka Chase is being placated for being taken from the cast of “The Women” by co-starring with Robert Montgomery in “Stronger Than Desire.” Instead of toning down the burr in Will Fyffe’s Scottish dialect for scenes in “Ruler of the Seas,” director Frank Lloyd is catching it himself. Following his great success in “Juarez,”. Warners is negotiating with Brian Aherne for a topline in “The Knight and the Lady,” with Bette Davis and Errol Flynn. Basil Rathbone and Donald Crisp are also in the cast. Providing the international situation settles down, Wesley Ruggles will take a short vacation abroad before beginning “Arizona,” his first Columbia picture under a new producer-director arrangement. Jean Arthur will be starred in this Clarence Budington Kelland novel.
