POWER FAILURE

GOVERNMENT LINE OVERLOADED Overloading of the Public Works Department power line was responsible for a further power failure in Masterton this morning at about 11 o’clock. The surge blew out a switch at the Waingawa Sub-Station. Although power was restored in Masterton within about five minutes it was not of sufficient strength to drive machinery and the "Times-Age” emergency plant had to be brought into operation for about half-an-hour so that the linotype machines might be operated.
