MASTERTON COUNTY

MEETING OF FINANCE COMMITTEE. At a meeting of the finance committee of the Masterton County Council this morning the treasurer reported bank accounts as at May 31 as follow: County Fund Account, debit, £6577; Bridges Loan, credit, £1238; Bridges Fund Account. £634: Imprest Account, £500; Fixed Deposit Bridges Loan, £13,000. Receipts since the last meeting totalled £1419. Subsidies due from the Main Highways Fund and Public Works Fund, at May 31. amounted to £2316. Accounts totalling £5535 were recommended for payment. The special committee comprising Councillors W. I. Armstrong, J. W. Colquhoun, the County Clerk (Mr J. C. D. Mackley) and the overseer (Mr B. L. Larson), which recently visited Auckland for the purpose of inquiring into the purchase of road making machinery reported on the results of their inspection and investigations.
