WEDDING

WALKER—FRANCES. Knox Church. Masterton, was the scene of a pretty wedding recently, when Roma Isabel, 'only daughter of Mr L. Frances and the late Mrs Frances. Masterton, was married to Cyril Melville, only son of Mr and Mrs G. H. Walker, Lower Hutt. The bride, who was escorted by her father, made a charming picture in her bridal frock of magnolia lace over satih. A beautiful veil of net, kindly lent by a friend, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of chrysanthemums, carnations and maiden-hair fern. The matron-of-honour, Mrs N. Wilkins, of Hamilton, wore a frock of pink georgette over mauve taffeta, with topknots of mauve anemones. She carried a bouquet of pink and mauve flowers. The bridesmaid, Miss Rae Stewart, of Masterfon, was dressed similarly to the the matron-of-honour. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Keith Kenward, Lower Hutt, as best man. and Mr Charles Frances, brother of the bride, as groomsman. The reception was held at the Prince of Wales Hotel, the guests being received by the bride’s father and Mrs T. Hutchins (as hostess), the latter wearing a smart black costume with accessories to match. She wore a shoulder spray to tone. They were assisted by the bridegroom’s parents, Mrs Walker wearing a brown costume with a smart brown hat and fur and shoulder spray in autumn tones. When Mr and Mrs C. M. Walker left for a tour of the North Island the bride wore a rust coloured ensemble and also a beautiful fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom. As the bride left the church she was presented by three little friends, Tommy Wick ens, Annette Walker (cousins of the bridegroom) and Hugh Cate (cousin of the bridegroom) with three horseshoes.
