WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETING AT TIRAUMEA. ("Times-Age” Special.) Mrs R. J. Harman, Senr, presided over a well attended meeting of the Women’s Division held in the Tiraumea Hall. It was decided to send a delegate to the Women’s Division Conference in July. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. Mrs Harman, Senr, who has returned recently from a trip to Australia, read extracts from her diary and gave an entertaining account of her tour. The competition for the wandering shilling was won by Mrs R. J. Harman, Junr, while the knitting competition was won by Miss Edna Wallis, with Miss Dorothy Hart second. BUSH RUGBY UNION RESULTS OF SATURDAY'S GAMES. The following were the remits of Saturday’s matches- played under the auspices of the Busht Rugby Union: Senior. Hamua 19, Marima 3. Mangatainoka 36, Nireaha 3, Konini 11, Pahiatua 3. Hukanui 9, Eketahuna 0. Third Grade. Mangatainoka 6, Pahiatua A 0. Eketahuna 17, Nireaha 3. Hukanui 18, Pahiatua B 0. Kawley, Evans, Doney, Fafeita and Payne scored tries for Eketahuna thirds, Payne converting one. The following are the positions of the teams: — Seniors.

Women’s (Institute. At the monthly meeting of the Nireaha Women’s. Institute Mrs Hawkins presided in the absence of Mrs Shannon. The motto for the day was “Do unto others as you would that they should do unto you.”

During the afternoon, opportunity was taken to present two of the members, Mesdames Terry and Lozell, who are leaving the district, with a piece of crystal each.

It was decided to hold a Children’s Fancy Dress and Hard-up Party to celebrate the Institute’s birthday. Mrs Golder gave a very interesting demonstration on rug-making from odd scraps of material. This was very much appreciated by the members present, Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Terry and Nordell. Competitions were won as follow: — Eggless sponge, Mesdames Lozell 1. F. Hansen 2, J. Drysdale 3. Baby’s knitted garment, Mesdames J. Hawkins 1. R. Thomasen 2, B. Lozell 3. Best bloom, Mesdames Wilkin 1, W. Drysdale 2, Hawkins 3. Plunket Society. At the monthly meeting of the Eke ■ tahuna sub-branch of the Plunket Society the nurse’s report showed the following figures for May:—Number of babies under supervision, 78; older children, 48; new cases for the month 4; visits to office of adults, 62, babies 58, children 3. total 123; visits to homes, 15; visits to district 4. It was reported that Mr W. N. Richardson had consented to act as trustee. Thanks were extended to Mesdames Connor, C. Bailey and Schnell for donations of firewood. A discussion took place on the proposed memorial to the late Sir Truby King and it was resolved to ask the Mayor if he would make an appeal to the general public. Circulars and letters are also being sent out. The following subscriptions are acknqwledged with thanks:—Mrs R. J Daniel and Mrs E. B. Terry 5s Building Society. At the Eketahuna Terminating Build ing Society's appropriation of £3OO. by ballot, Mrs A. Perry, of Newman, was the successful shareholder.
