A sixteen-year-old girl, Jean Nicholl, whom critics regard as outstanding, easily defeated Miss Betty Nuthall 6/2.> 6/2 in the final'of the St George’s Hill tennis tournament. Then, partnered with Miss Alice Marble, she won the doubles final, defeating Mrs King and Miss Harvey 6/3, 3 '6, 6/1.
