Sixteen started, including Aladdin and The Squire. Kaitere was unplaced in the Ellesmere Handicap won by Fearless. Results at the Williamstown races were as follows: — Port Phillip Hurdle. —Restford 1; Imitari 2; Dornford 3. Seven started. Two and a half lengths; one and a half. Restford’s victory is regarded as an impressive Grand National performance. Footmark and Namakia were unplaced in the Second Division of the Esplanade Welter Handicap.
