Mutton market: Wethers and ewes; firmmarket: Frozen beef; steady, with fair trade. Chilled beef; weaker this week because of hot weather and heavy supplies. New Zealand porker pigs: Trade slow —prices normal. New Zealand baconer pigs Market quiet and unchanged. Boneless bobby veal: Firmer, on the lighter supplies. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board from its London office which advises that the wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday, June 8. Chilled beef prices are averages of the week on which this list is issued. All prices are on the basis of delivered to Smithfield Market. Prices for the previous week are show in parentheses: —

Compared with last week’s quotations, Down and crossbred are, l-8d per lb higher, wethers, u/481bs and 56/641bs. l-8d per lb higher, 48/561bs and 64/721bs jet higher, ewes l-8d per lb higher. Others unchanged. The market continues firm all round.
