FAREWELL GATHERING
WAIRARAPA POWER BOARD EMPLOYEE. A pleasant function took place at the Wairarapa Power Board’s ofl’ici last night when Mr L. Pearson, whe has been lines foreman for the pas 15 years, was farewelled prior ti entering into business on his own account in Auckland. Eulogistic reference to Mr Pearson'; fine services and excellent charactei were made by Messrs G. Brown (sec retary-manager), H. B. Keenan (engineer), J. H. Blackwood (chief inspector), N. Flemming (showroom staff), P. Downs and P. Watts (lines department) and other members ol various branches. All. the speakers expressed regret at losing a workmate and friend and wished him well in his future sphere of activities. On behalf of the staff, Mr Brown presented Mr and Mrs Pearson with an electric chim.ing clock and Mi Pearson with a case of pipes. The management had previously expressed its good wishes and appreciation of Mr Pearson's past services in a tangible manner.
