OUTRAGES IN BRITAIN
PILLARBOXES IN LONDON SET ON FIREBOMBS IN POST OFFICE PARCELS. TWO MEN INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, June 9. Six London pillarboxes were set on fire and bombs found in the Post Office at Wimpole Street. Police reserves were called out and the Fire Brigade put emergency operations into force. A Post Office worker at Manchester was injured when a parcel exploded and a man was injured in a Wimpole Street explosion, where four unexploded bombs were found. A number of other pillarboxes were set on fire throughout London. MORE EXPLOSIONS. IN DIFFERENT ENGLISH TOWNS. (Received This Day, 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, June 9. Four letter-box bombs were exploded in Birmingham, two after the collection of mails. There were six explosions in a Lincoln Post Office. Nobody was injured.
