LOTTERY LUCK
CHRISTCHURCH MAN WINS £12,000. WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE QUIETLY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr Charles Erickson, of Christchurch, has won £12,000 (first prize) in an overseas lottery. 11l health has prevented him from working for the past five years. “I was not excited when I heard the news,” said Mr Erickson. “I am going to invest the money and continue to live quietly.” He is a single man, aged 46, and has had no permanent place of residence since his mother died a year ago. Regular contributions to overseas lotteries for years had brought Mr Erickson only one previous prize, of £5, in 1922.
