CHURCH SERVICES
The preacher at Evensong at St. Matthew’s tomorrow night will be Canon W. G. Williams, 8.A., of Napier, Superintendent of the Maori Mission. The vicar will be the preacher at 11 a.m. The usual services will be conducted at Kuripuni and Bideford by the Rev. T. V. Pearson, and at Upper Plain by Mr V. W. Joblin. Th. youth day of prayer will be celebrated in the Methodist Church tomorrow, when subjects will be- dealt with in keeping with the day. At the morning service the topic will be “The Challenge of the Children,” and in the evening “Today’s Task for Youth,” the preacher at both services being the Rev. F. J. Parker. At 4.30 p.m., a special tea will be held for the Bible Classes, and this will be followed by the youth session of prayer, with the use of the special order provided. All young people are invited to this special session.
At the Kuripuni Methodist Church tomorrow the morning preacher will be Mr A. Handyside, and at 6.50 p.m. cars will leave for the town church service. The Methodist service at Rangitumau at 2 p.m. tomorrow will be ocnducted by the Rev. F. J. Parker. The anniversary services of the Lansdowne Presbyterian Sunday School will be held tomorrow. The scholars have been trained as a choir and will render special songs and choruses at the services at 11 a.m. and 2.45 p.m. in the church. A concert will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock in the hall. The speakers at tomorrow’s services will be Sister Kathleen Every, who is a specialist in Sunday school work, and the Rev J. M. Simpson. 8.A., who will speak to the children in the afternoon. A cordial welcome will be given to everyone attending the services. The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Major Mahaffie. At the morning service the Major will take for his subject “The Joy of Personal Christian Experience.” The speaker at the evening service will be the Rev J. M. Simpson, who will take for his t subject: "The Great Lock-out.” All are heartily invited to the Army services.
