MOTORIST FINED

DRIVING WITHOUT LICENCE. FOLLOWING ON PROHIBITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Fines totalling £l9, with costs, were imposed upon Richard Cheyne by Mr H. A. Young, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court when Cheyne was charged on two counts with driving a motor truck without a warrant of fitness, when he was not the holder of driver’s licence, and when he was prohibited from holding a licence. Constable Leith said Cheyne had been convicted in February last for being intoxicated in charge of a motor and prohibited from holding a licence for eighteen months. On the first charge, of driving without a licence, Cheyne was fined £lO and £5 on the second and, on each of the charges of having no warrant of fitness, he was fined £2.
