MALAY'S GENEROUS GIFTS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 7. The Colonial Secretary, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, stated in the House of Commons that free gifts from Malaya toward the cost of Empire defence during the last 20 years amounted to more than £7.250,000. In addition, the expenditure borne in the same period by the Malayan Government on local forces, including His Majesty’s forces in the Peninsula, amounted to about £15.000.000.
