RESIDENTS ENTERTAINED ENJOYABLE KITCHEN TEAS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Two popular brides, Mrs G. Fredrickson and Mrs P. Foster (nee Miss H. Larsen and Miss D. Trass respectively) were entertained at kitchen teas tendered to them recently by local residents in the Mauriceville West Hall. Mr A. Forsberg, in asking the guests to accept the many gifts, wished them the very best of good fortune in the future. Vocal items were rendered by Messrs N. Williams and F. Sigvertsen. Competitions were won by Miss J. Larsen and Mr F. Morrell. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE ARRANGEMENTS FOR BIRTHDAY. Mrs Forsberg presided over a good ■attendance of members at a meeting of the Women’s Institute held on Tuesday. Detailed arrangements were made for the fourth birthday celebration which will be held in the form of a concert and dance in the Mauriceville East Hall on Monday evening, June 12. Mrs Myers gave an interesting talk on her recent trip to Australia. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A presentation was made to Mrs Jermy, who is shortly leaving the district to reside in Ohakune, Mrs Forsberg spoke in glowing terms of the valuable services Mrs Jermy had rendered since the formation of the Women’s Institute, and regretted very much her departure. On behalf of the members she wished her every success and happiness in the future. The competition was won by Miss J. Nielsen with Miss J. Larsen second. The hostesses for the afternoon were Miss J. Nielsen and Mrs Palmer. Personal Items. Mr H. A. Nielsen is at present spending a holiday with relatives in Stratford. Miss C. Palmer spent the weekend with friends in Marton. Mr H. C. Mortensen and Messrs H. and N. Myers are on a motor tour of the North Island..
