MASTERTON SALE
BETTER PRICES FOR GOOD EWES. A medium yarding of store sheep and a large yarding of fats were offered by the Wairarapa Live Stock Auctioneering Association in Masterton yesterday.. Buyers were in good numbers. The fat sheep yarded were not of such good quality as those .of last week, and this fact, together with the over-supply, weakened the market. with the result that last week’s values were not mamtained. Store sheep, with the exception of breeding ewes, remained firm at late sales’ quotations, but good ewes running with rams showed a decided imnrovement in value and in seme cases made 2s to 3s a head more Than last week. An. attractive line of marked ewes offered on account of H. J. W. lord made, after spirited competition, 16s. Another line of sound-mouth ewes on account B. P. Perry made 13s 6d to 14s, and a line of m.a. ewes on account of J. M. Laing, made 12s 6d. Quotations are:— Sheep.
