GOLF COMPETITIONS DRAW FOR STABLEFORD. (“Times-Age” Special.) Owing to a number of local players taking part in the annual golf tournament at Lansdowne and the prevalence of influenza, in the district the match scheduled for the weekend with the Wainui-o-ru Club had to be postponed. However the influenza patients are now recovering and it is expected to field a strong team against Tyneside Club in a Donald Cup match next weekend. The following is the draw for next Saturday’s Stableford:— Ladies: Mrs Bannister v. Miss M. Taylor; Miss Buckeridge v. Mrs Foreman; Miss McGregor v. Mrs Kummer; Miss Bannister v. Mrs Gauld; Miss Vennell v. Miss Dickason; Mrs I. McGregor v. Mrs Schofield; Mrs McKinstry v. Mrs Nitz; Mrs Reid v. Mrs McGregor; Men: P. Kummer v. Gray; R. McKinstry v. J. Bannister; R. Bannister v. W. Kummer; Gauld v. A. McGregor; Foreman v. F. McKinstry; Nitz v. N. Kummer; H. Paku v. Vennell; M. Paku v. scorer; F. Cotter v. I. McGregor.
Resignation of Secretary. •At a committee meeting of the Golf Club, there being a full attendance, the secretary, Mr F. C. H. Cotter, tendered his resignation which was accepted with regret and Mr I. McGregor was appointed to fill the position. Mr F. McKinstry was elected to the vacancy on the committee caused by the retirement of Mr H. Winter who has left the district. The president, Mr S. Gray, and the secretary-treasurer were appointed, trustees for the club It was agreed that the annual golf ball should be held on September 9 and the chairman stated that Barnes’s Orchestra had been engaged to provide the music.
