JEWISH EXILES

PERMITTED TO LAND IN CUBA. PENDING REMOVAL TO OTHER COUNTRIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAVANA. June G. The tragedy of 917 homeless Jews who were refused permission by the Cuban Government to land in Cuba from a German ship on June 2, and who have been cruising for four days in West Indian waters, neared its end today when President Bru relented and agreed to permit them to land at least temporarily. It is expected that they will be landed in the Isle of Pines and housed in a concentration camp, apparently pending their removal to other countries. Their expenses and the cost of re-embarkation have been guaranteed by Jewish societies.
