HOCKEY IN MASTERTON

MONDAY’S TOURNAMENT. Owing to such large entries having been received from outside centres the Wairarapa Hockey Tournament, which is to be played on Monday, has now been divided to cover two grounds. The junior men’s section (second division) and the junior ladies’ section games will be played on the Wairarapa College grounds, play commencing at 9.15 a.m. and 8.45 a.m., respectively. The semi-finals of men’s and finals of the ladies’ competitions will be played on the main grounds at Lansdowne, in front of the Public Hospital. Given a fine day a large attendance of the public should be seen witnessing fast and exciting play. A small charge is being made for admission, the funds so derived being set aside to provide dressing sheds, showers, etc., on the main ground. Following the tournament a dance will be held in the Masonic Hall.
