SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY ST. MARK’S LADIES’ GUILD. (“Times-Age” Special.) St Mark’s Ladies’ Guild held a very successful shop day in the Band Room yesterday. There -was a plentiful supply of all sorts of articles for sale and there being a large number of the public present the Guild funds will benefit to the extent of £37. Personal. The sole New Zealand Rugby foot- ' ball selector, Mr E. McKenzie, is present at the inter-island University football match which is being played at Christchurch today. SOCIAL AT PARKVALE SCHOOL FUNDS BENEFIT. A most enjoyable social was held last evening in the Parkvale School in aid of the school funds, which as a result were considerably augmented. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mr. J. Edwards. Euchre was also played, the winners of the prizes being: Ladies, Mrs. G. Howard 1, Mrs. P. Oliver 2; men, Mr. F. Morgan 1, Mr. G. Howard 2. The Monte Carlo' waltz was won by Mr. L. Gray and Miss G. McKenna. Extras were played by Miss V. James. Mr. M. Rose was a capable M.C. A dainty supper was provided and supervised by the ladies’ committee. A similar social will be held in a fortnight’s time.
