ARAB DOUBTS
REASONS FOR REJECTING. WHITE PAPER. STATEMENT BY HIGHER - COMMITTEE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, June 2. The Beirut correspondent of “The Times” says that the Arab Higher Committee, explaining the rejection of the White Paper, doubts whether Brittain will keep her promises. It considers that Arab independence cannot be realised if it is conditional upon Jewish co-operation, and says that the period of transition is not fixed, as Britain claims the right to prolong it and denies the local right to frame the constitution. The committee further claims complete prohibition of the transfer of lands to Jews.
