LICENSING BENCH

MEETING AT CARTERTON. ONE LICENCE REFUSED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Licensing Bench at Carterton today all the applications for licenses were granted except that in respect of the Greytown Hotel. In this case the Bench decided that a licence could not be granted to the present occupant, who was required to find a suitable successor by June 29. The licence of the Martinborough Hotel was granted conditionally on certain repairs and additions being carried out within the next three months. The Bench comprised Messrs H. P. Lawry, S.M., T. Saunders, W. C. M. Sorenson, H. T. Rees and J. Purvis.
