RED BULLS PREFERRED
INSISTENCE OF ARGENTINE FARMERS The insistence of the Argentine farmers on the red coloured bulls was well illustrated by Dr C. P. McMeekan, of Massey College, in an address to the Palmerston North Rotary Club. He was showing his audience a film that he had taken at an agricultural show in that country and, after remarking that there had been 2000 purebred Shorthorn bulls entered, he gave a view of the prize-winners parading in the oval. There followed a picture of the animal that won the first prize. The stock was subsequently sold and this bull, a magnificent specimen, because it had a white patch on its back, brought 5000 Argentine dollars less than the second beast.
