BERKSHIRE PIGS
SALE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited; Palmerston North, report having held their annual sale of Berkshire pigs on account of Mr J. A. Russell, “Blythewood” Stud, at Palmerston North. The pigs came forward in good order, and were submitted to a good attendance of the public. Buyers were present from Taranaki, Marton, Rongotea, Oroua Downs, Shannon, Masterton, Wairoa and purchasing orders were also executed for Invercargill and Adelaide clients. Competition was inclined to be erratic, and buyers were not disposed to force prices above a moderate level. Sows due to farrow, made 6,7, 81, 9, 10, 111, 12, 121, 13 to 14 guineas. Empty sows, 4, SJ, to 10 guineas. Young sows, 2 and 2} guineas. Boars, 4. 5, 7, 8 to 12 guineas. A very nice Berkshire Sow due to farrow, was purchased for an Adelaide client at 14 guineas.
