As the first step in the 161 million pounds three-year Royal Australian Air Force expansion plan, deliveries of a hundred Wirraway two-seater fighters, fifty heavily armed Lockheed Hudson long-range reconnaissance bombers, a first consignment of fast British Beaufort bombers and an unspecified number of Short Sunderland fly-ing-boats, "flying fortresses,” will be made before next January.
