A GRUELLING BOUT. BLOMFIELD AND KIRCHMEYER DRAW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. A rough, gruelling wrestling bout, which packed the Wellington Town Hall last night, resulted in a draw between Lofty Blomfield and Rollend Kirchmeyer. Each took a fall with his specialty hold. Blomfield with an octopus damp in the fourth round, Kirchmeyer with a python's clutch in the sixth. These zoological tactics, features of a bright and interesting bout, held the large crowd tense. They were witnessed by several Cabinet Ministers.
Kirchmeyer, the bigger man, had nearly a stone advantage. He weighed 17st. 71b. to Blomfield’s IGst. 101 b. Kirchmeyer stood 6ft. 71in., and loked physically harder than Blomfield. but the latter showed himself in excellent condition and made a most impressive showing.
