WOMEN’S DIVISION

WAIRARAPA COUNCIL ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Council of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held in the Country' Women's Club Room, Masterton, the president, Mrs E. H. Dagg, presided over a, very good attendance of delegates. After the singing of the National Anthem Mrs Dagg welcomed the delegates. The president’s report was well received; Mrs Dagg thanked all the branches for their donations for the Rest Room in Palmerston North. This home was fulfilling a great need in providing a home for those in need of a rest.' Thanks were also given to the Country Women’s Club for the use of its club room. The Housekeeper secretary’s report was interesting, ih that since November. 22 housekeepers had been placed in'the Wairarapa district. The scheme was working smoothly and- efficiently and with excellent reports from employers. The election of officers resulted as follow:^—President, Mrs E: H. Dagg (Mauriceville); vice-presidents, Mesdames A. Clark (Featherston), C. C. Jackson (Masterton), K. Groves (Masterton), R.ty. Beu (Greytown), and Miss Anderson (Eketahuna); housekeepers’ secretary, Mrs J. Standen (Carterton);- recording secretary, Mrs J. Maitland (Carterton); committee, Mesdames D. James (Rangitumau), Barrer, K .Groves, C. C. Jackson (Masterton); delegates to the Dominion Conference, Mesdames Barrer (Masterton), Standen, Maitland (Carterton), and Miss Anderson (Eketahuna); advisory members, Mesdames Morrison, C. C. Jackson- (Masterton). Delegates will meet on Wednesday, June 21, at 10.30 a.m. in the Club Room, Masterton. The Pioneer book will soon be on sale and branches are to make the sales through their own branches. The meeting passed a vote of thanks to Mr L. H. Smart, Carterton, for so kindly auditing the books of the Provincial Council.
