FEATHERSTON

EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. GATHERING AT PAHAUTEA. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the Pahautea Hall. The prize winners were as follows: —Ladies, Mrs C. Hodder 1, Miss N. Cade 2. ’ Men: Mr J. Bentley 1, Mr V. Bargh 2. Aggregate: Ladies, Mrs Hodder 1, Miss Cade 2. Men: Mr H. Frew 1, Mr L. Smith 2. Pre-wedding Party. A very enjoyable gathering was spent at the residence of Miss Bessie Donald, “Arureka,” Revan Street, when friends tendered a party to Miss Ina McFadzean, whose marriage to Mr Harris, of Wellington, takes place shortly. Part of the evening was spent in community singing. Solos were given by Mesdames V. Robinson (Carterton), Arch Clark, and Miss Joan McKenzie, Mrs Clark being the accompanist. Mr Stewart Reid proposed the health of Miss McFadzean and Mr Harris, who were accorded musical honours. Mr Keith Donald then asked Miss McFadzean to accept and open the parcels. Mr Harris thanked those present on behalf of Miss McFadzean for their gifts and good wishes. An enjoyable supper was handed round, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought an enjoyable evening to a close. Personal. Mr and Mrs D. Ingley and Mr and Mrs Cyril Fenwick, of Kaiwaiwai, will leave this week on a motor tour to Rotorua and Auckland.
