MARTINBOROUGH

A SUCCESSFUL BALL. YOUNG FARMERS’ AND TENNIS j CLUBS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The ball conducted by the combined committees of the Young Farmers' Club and the Tennis Club on Friday night proved a great success, both socially and financially. Being the first large social event of the season it was well attended. The hall was decorated in a tasteful and novel way, with beautifully arranged baskets of flowers hung from the circle and intermingled with coloured lights and gay shades. The stage was very effectively set in a bower ot flowers, which lent a refreshing and dainty background to the dancers lovely frocks. A delicious supper was served, the tables were set with bowls of iceland poppies. Music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra. Among the dancers were: Mr and Mrs McWilliam, Mr and Mrs Geof. Chadwick who has been a visitor to Martinborough for the last fortnight, returned to his home in North Auckland today.
