CARTERTON LADIES’ GUILD. ADDRESS ON FOREIGN MISSIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Carterton Methodist Ladies’ Guild held on Thursday was of special interest. After the ordinary business of the Guild had been completed visitors from Greytown and Dalefield were welcomed. They had been invited to hear the Rev V. Le C. Binet, who has spent fifteen years in the Solomon Islands as a missionary, this week being Foreign Missions deputation in the Wairarapa. Mr Binet’s address on missionary work was followed with interest. Mr Binet spoke of native chiefs who once were head hunters but now, in the new light of Christianity, were surrendering their axes and spears. Mr Binet was warmly thanked for his address.
