BRITISH PROPOSALS SENT TO RUSSIA OTHER POWERS INFORMED IMPORTANT STAGE REACHED (British Official Wireless.’ (Received This Day. 11.28 a.m.) RUGBY. May 26. The dispatch to the Soviet Govern ment of the British proposals has marked an important stage in efforts to establish a peace front against aggression. Other governments concerned. in ■ eluding that of Poland, have been kepi informed of Britain’s views and the proposals have Fiance's entire approval. Pending Moscow's examination of the document, no further development is expected, but M. Maisky (Soviet Am bassador to Britain) when he return' from Geneva next week, will probably discuss certain aspects with Lord Halifax. M. VoroshilofT. Soviet Wai' Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Army, has been invited to this year's British Army manoeuvres.
