FIRE IN OIL STORE

PUT OUT BY WELLINGTON BRIGADE. CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Seeing flames issuing from the Vacuum Oil Company’s stor on the Hutt Road at about 4.40 this morning, a night watchman at the Thorndon Tramsheds broke a street alarm. The brigade responded and ran two leads to a fire on the top floor of the twostorey building. The blaze was put out in about half an hour. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. Considerable damage was done to the building and contents.
