RAIN IN MARLBOROUGH

FIRST GOOD FALL SINCE DECEMBER. TOO LATE TO BENEFIT PASTURES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. The most copious rain since the first wc-ek in December commenced yesterday, gaugings of between twelve and 300 points being recorded in different parts of the province. Blenheim received only 24 points up to nine o’clock, making a total of just over an inch and a half lor a period of roughly six months, but intermittent rain is still falling. Heavy falls up country resulted in the first floods in Marlborough since before Christmas, but the only inundation is at Canvastown, the floodin" temporarily blocking the BlenheimNelson Highway. Conditions are mild, making the rain acceptable to farmers; though it is too late to benefit pastures.
