RADIO TRANSMITTERS
MEETING OF LOCAL BRANCH. ADDRESS BY MR RACTLIFFE. The president (Mr C. R. Dahlberg) presided over a large attendance of members at last night's meeting of the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters. Two new members were elected. The New Zealand Association expressed approval of the club's receiver and transmitter. A license will be taken out, and the work proceeded with immediately. Mr J. Ractliffe gave a further lecture, explaining the operation of a simple 3-valve receiver, and the cross sections of the inside structure' of valves were' also shown.. Members were able to obtain a sound knowledge of the function of valves. Mr Ractliffe was thanked for his instructive address. Next Tuesday night Mr Ractliffe will explain the operation of regenerative detectors and oscillators.
