STOCK MARKET
PAHIATUA CATTLE FAIR. BULLOCK PRICES ADVANCE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows: —At the second Autumn Cattle Fair held yesterday the yarding fell short of advertised numbers, and few pens of straight lines were submitted. Only two pens of bullocks were penned, and these which we offered in conjunction with Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., sold readily at prices substantially in advance of those operating at the first fair. The first pen submitted comprised 64 really attractive forward conditioned de.orned bullocks on account of Messrs Olsen and Jacobsen, of Haunui. Bidding on these opened freely, the line finally selling out at £6 13s to a Woodville buyer. The other pen of bullocks, a line of 40 P.A. on. account of the same vendors made xd 14s, being sold to a Masterton buyer. For the balance of the entry good competition and prices prevailed, and we report a total clearance as under: —A/c Olsen and Jacobsen (in conjunction with Dalgety and Co.), dehorned Hereford bullocks, £6 13s; P.A. do., £6 14s; a/c Rupert Robbie, 3-yr.
