TALK IN GENEVA

LORD HALIFAX &,M. MAISKY SITUATION NOT CHANGED MEANTIME. HOPE OF AGREEMENT LATER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, May 21. The Geneva correspondent of the Exchange Agency says a cordial conversation between Lord Halifax and the Russian Ambassador to London, M. Maisky, lasted ninety minutes. No further conversations on Anglo-Rus-sian affairs will occur during the session of the League Council. Russian circles are of opinion, though, that complete agreement will be reached later. The conversation has not changed the situation. Lord Halifax will report to Cabinet on Wednesday. He also saw Professor Karl Burckhardt, the Danzig High Commissioner, and M. Sandler, the Swedish Foreign Minister. NO ENCIRCLEMENT STATEMENT BY M. BONNET. DECLARATIONS OF FRENCH AIMS. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) PARIS, May 21. The Foreign Minister, M. Bonnet, said France was not encircling anyone. She seeks to co-operate with all, but will not accept a progressive triumph of violence over justice and right. "Our frontiers are marked by the blood of glorious dead,” he said. “We intend to deep our inheritance.”
