YANKEE CLIPPER REACHES AZORES ATLANTIC COMMERCIAL FLIGHT. NO PASSENGERS CARRIED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. HORTA (Azores), May 21. The Pan-American Airways’ flyingboat Yankee Clipper, which took off from. New York yesterday, landed here at 2.29 a.m. today, completing the first leg of the first scheduled commercial flight across the Atlantic. The trip started Qn the 12th anniversary of Colonel Lindbergh’s flight to Paris. The plane carried only mail and there were no passengers. ARRIVAL AT LISBON. OCEAN CROSSED IN 26£ HOURS. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) HORTA (Azores), May 21. The Yankee Clipper’ which has completed the first leg of a commercial flight across the Atlantic from New York, took off again for Lisbon at 1.48 p.m. (British Summer Time). The plane arrived at Lisbon at 8.49 p.m., after crossing the Atlantic in 26i hours.
