CARNIVAL EFFORT

BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY-Y.M.C.A.

NET PROCEEDS OVER £5OO. The net proceeds from the Masterton Beautifying Society and Y.M.C.A. joint carnival realised over £5OO, and of this amount £250 has already been paid to the Beautifying Society and £250 to the Y.M.C.A. There are still small accounts outstanding and creditors are asked to I'ender these forthwith in order that the balance of the profit may be paid over to the two societies concerned. Of the total proceeds approximately half were derived from the revue. At the carnival the gate takings were: Afternoon, £56 2s 6d; evening, £59 15s; total, £ll5 17s 6d. The proceeds from the sideshows and stalls were (proceeds from the sideshows are gross takings less change supplied, those for the stalls are takings less change):—Ping pong balls, £l3 8s 7d; roll downs, £2 7s 6d; knock downs, £8 6s; topsy turvey, £B, 9s 4d; archery, £9 16s 6d; rifle range, £8 2s; nail-driving, £3 10s 3d; hoop-la, £l4 10s 9d; coconut shy, £6 16s; darts, £l3 15s sd; sheep guessing, £3 16s; boats, £6 Is 3d; Mickey Mouse, £4 Ils 2d; sweets, £3 Ils 2d; cakes, £l2 6s 3d; jumble, £5 19s 2d; produce, £l4 18s sd; flowers, £3 8s 6d; bran tub, £1 4s; art gallery, 7s 9d; name guessing, £2 ss; miscellaneous, £6 14s 9d; balloons, 8s 9d; cake guessing, £5; doll guessing, £4 9s 6d.
