FAMOUS BOYS’ CHOIR
VISIT OF VIENNESE SINGERS. Widespread interest is evinced in the forthcoming visit to Masterton of the renowned Vienna Mozart Boys’ Choir, which is to give a concert in the Opera House on Friday night next. The entertainment presented by these remarkably talented children, is said by London critics to be one of the quaintest, and most captivating ever presented at Queen’s Hall. In their performances of the many types of Viennese music, from the polyphonic gems of the 16th century clown to the popular waltz tunes of Johann Strauss, these young boys display the stylistic and inherited artistry which rests upon a foundation of good taste, and can neither be imitated nor acquired. No better ambassadors for Viennese music can be found than these charming little people, who exchange cassocks for sailor suits and silver wigs for lovelocks, who obey every indication of their conductor with affectionate docility, and bow and curtsey to their audiences with the grace and decorum of cavaliers and court ladies. Plans for next Friday’s concert will be opened on Tuesday morning at W. G. Perry's.
