AND THOUSANDS INJURED TERRIFIC STORMS AND FLOODS IN TIMOR. NATIVE HOUSES DEMOLISHED. (Independent Cable Service.) AMSTERDAM, May 19. Hundreds are dead and thousands injured as a result of terrific storms and floods sweeping Timor. Hundreds of native houses have been demolished and crops damaged to the extent of £220,000/ Timor is an island of the Malay Archipelago, one of the Lesser Sunda group. The north-east portion is Portuguese, the remainder being Dutch. Portuguese territory covers 7330 square miles and Dutch territory 6000 square miles. Kupang is the capital of the Dutch section.
