Four persons were injured when a crowded tram crashed into the rear of another at Island Bay last night. The rear car telescoped into the tram in front. The accident happened late at night when theatre and cinema plea-sure-seekers were on their way home. The injured persons were taken to hospital in two ambulances. The rear motorman’s compartment in the first tram was completely wrecked. The front of the second car was driven back at the top and the heavy electrical gear above the motorman was forced down several feet. The heavy front bumper was badly broken.
