YOUNG FARMERS
VISITORS FROM SOUTH ISLAND.
INSPECTION OF WAIRARAPA STOCK. A party of 24 members of Young Farmers’ Clubs from the Otago-South-
land district visited Wairarapa farms yesterday in continuation of their tour/ of the North Island. The'J party was in charge of Mr S. R. Whyte, Otago-South-land provincial secretary.
Yesterday morning the visitors inspected the Lincolns and Romneys of Mr L. R. Wilton, Rangitumau, and were entertained at morning tea. After having lunch in Masterton, the party proceeded to Mr R. M. Perry's property, Upper Plain, where Southdown stud stock were the centre of interest. In ■ the absence of Mr R. M. Perry the visitors were shown round by Mr G. H. Perry. A visit was then paid to Mr Duncan McGregor’s farm, Gladstone, where the lime crushing works were inspected and afternoon tea was served. Last evening was spent in Featherston, and this morning the Young Farmers continued their tour southward, visiting the Wallaceville Laboratory and the Ford Motors plant en route tc Wellington. They leave this evening for the South Island.
