PLUNKET SOCIETY

VISIT BY DOMINION PRESIDENT. MRS BEGG ENTERTAINED IN MASTERTON. Mrs James Begg, Dominion president of -the Plunket Society was entertained today at morning tea by members of the committee of the Masterton branch of the society. Representatives of the various Wairarapa branches were present and Mrs Begg was presented with a beautiful bouquet. Mrs J. Caselberg, president of the Masterton branch presided and representatives of other branches present were Mrs and Miss Martin (Martinborough), Mrs Q. Donald and Miss Curry (Featherston), Mesdames Viles and Bunny (Greytown) and W. Bullock (Wellington), a former president of the Masterton branch. Mrs Caselberg warmly welcomed Mrs Begg and said they greatly appreciated her visit, knowing that her time was limited. She praised the work of the Dominion council in Dunedin and said that the Wairarapa branches pledged continued loyalty to the governing body, presided over by Mrs Begg, and to the principles of Sir Truby King. Mrs Begg thanked the committee and Mrs Caselberg for their kind welcome and went on to describe the new Karitane Home which was nearing completion in Dunedin and also the new Plunket Rooms in the same city. She stressed the need for increased care of pre-school children. She congratulated the Masterton branch on its fine rooms and also on having such an enthusiastic and devoted president.
