The flying report for April showed the total flying time recorded by the club's machines for the month of April to be 82 hours 45 minutes, an increase of 12 hours compared with the corresponding period last year. Twen-ty-seven cross-country flights were made, the places visited being Auckland, Dannevirke, Hamilton. Palmerston North, Te Kuiti, Blenheim. Gisborne; Hastings,' New Plymouth and Wellington. Mr M. Baker made his first solo flight on April 16. A request was received from the Girl Guide Association for permission to visit the aerodrome and be given tuition in various matters appertaining to aeronautics for the purpose of being able to qualify for aircraft badges. It was resolved that arrangements be made for a series of talks to meet the request. The president (Mr McDonald) and the secretary (Mr L. F. Gray) wore appointed as delegates to attend the annual conference of the Royal New Zealand Aero Club. Tt was reported that several trainees had been approved for training in the Civil Reserve of Pilots and that a further group had been before the medical board for examination.
