ROTARY LUNCHEON

ADDRESS BY MR R. LAMBERT. Rotarian R. Lambert was the speaker at today’s Rotary Club luncheon. He spoke on a '‘Trip Across America.” Mr Lambert described a streamlined articulated train, running from Los Angeles to Chicago, a distance of 2400 miles, in 39.1 hours. The engine was named the “City of Los Angeles.” The particular features of this train were that the under-structure was made of alloy steel and the superstructure of aluminium. Mr Lambert gave a description of Swifts’ Canneries in Chicago. The Niagara Falls and New York city were also referred to in some detail. On the motion of the present, Rotarian H. H. Daniell, Mr Lambert was thanked for his informative address.
