MASTERTON HOSPITAL

FIRE-FIGHTING PRECAUTIONS. REPORT BY SUPERINTENDENT. The Wairarapa Hospital Board had before it at its meeting yesterday a comprehensive report by the Superintendent of the Masterton Fire Brigade (Mr T. B. Clark) on the result of his inspection of the Masterton Hospital buildings and the Nurses' Home. It was stated that Mr Clark had found that the arrangements for a quick get-away in the event of fire or major disaster were good and in his report he had merely made recommendations as to improvements. It was decided to' refer the report to the Finance Committee to draw up a list of the more urgent matters and their cost, and report to the next meeting of the board. “It is an excellent report,” remarked the chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, when moving that Mr Clark be thanked for his Report.
