FROM POVERTY TO WEALTH
ARTHUR TRACY’S LUCK. Arthur Tracy, the “street singer,” who in 1927 was a penniless young man wandering around New York in search of a job, in 1931, after a period of unemployment, was struck with the idea of becoming radio’s first “mystery” singer, and went on the air at a salary of £25 per week. Inquiries regarding his identity poured in, his career was established, and his salary is now £2,000 a week. He is featured in “Follow Your Star.”
