SUGAR QUOTAS

RETURN of surrenders recommended.

It is understood that the Sugar Committee has recommended the return of voluntary quota' surrenders, amounting to 248,375 tons, plus 5 per cent quota cuts totalling 184,125 tons, as some countries are unable to fill even lhe reduced, quotas. The total amount of additional sugar likely to be available is estimated at 236.000 tons, plus 85,000 tons from British colonies and Dominions.
