CALL TO PRAYER

BY CHURCH LEADERS IN BRITAIN WORLD DOMINATED BY FEAR. NEW ALLEGIANCE NEEDED TO CHRIST'S IDEAL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, May 16. The Archbishop of Canterbury, representatives of the Free Churches, Church of Scotland and others have signed a call to prayer at Whitsuntide, in which they emphasise the .world’s need of a new allegiance to Christ’s ideal. The appeal describes the world as being dominated by fear and says there can be no security in a world of armed camps. The deepest need is a rising up of the spirit which will lead nations and their rulers to try to be good neighbours. The spirit of Christ alone can bring to the troubled world the blessing of peace.
