DRUIDS’ BALL. AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. There was a very large attendance at the . annual ball held by the lotara Lodge of Druids in the King’s Theatre, last evening. Visitors were present from alLparts of the Wairarapa and the function was an outstanding success, the sum of £4O being taken at the door. With the sale of tickets and promises of monetary assistance there should be a substantial credit balance which will go towards the benevolent fund of the lodge. The interior of the hall was gaily decorated with red, white and blue streamers relieved with lycopodium and other greenery. This together with the beautiful dresses worn by the ladies made a very striking picture. The floor was in good condition thanks to the efforts of an energetic committee, and dancing was continued till 2 o’clock this morning to the strains of excellent music supplied by Tom Udy’s dance band of eight instruments. Much appreciated extras were played by Misses Jean Lorenzen and M. Herrick and Messrs Tom Udy and H. Murrell. A very tasty supper was provided and was presided over by members of the lodge and a strong ladies’ committee. Representatives were present from all sister lodges in Wairarapa. The M.’sC. were Bros A. Stretton (District President), H. Torrey, V.A.D., and H. Murrell, 1.G., and they kept the dances going merrily throughout the evening.
